Simple Holiday Entertaining with Wine and Coffee Pairings
Posted on 05 October 2017
October is National Italian-American Heritage month. We celebrate the accomplishments of Americans of Italian descent and the love of their country that they share with the United States. Our families came to the United States to make a better life for themselves and overcame many obstacles to make that possible. The Italian culture is centered around the family dinner table and a few of our favorite things - food, wine, and espresso.
Here are some of our favorite wine and espresso pairings to top off your holiday celebrations!
Italo Cescon Prosecco with Bruschetta
Prosecco is a great aperitif and the refreshing fragrance is a perfect match with a fresh tomato and basil bruschetta.
Cantine Montagna Sangue di Giuda (Blood of Judas) with Parmigiano Reggiano
This sweet and fruity frizzante wine blends well with a hard, salty cheese.
Both light flavorful reds lend themselves well to the spice of fresh salami and sweet melon.
Veglio Moscato d’Asti with White Chocolate
The sweet sparkling wine is quite fruity and paired with a sweet white chocolate makes for an excellent dessert.
Pellini Top with dark chocolate
A good quality dark chocolate adds a touch of sweetness to the slight cocoa flavor of Pellini Top.
Ottobono Gold Sense with milk chocolate
The dense creamy consistency of this espresso begs for the soft, velvety flavors of milk chocolate.
The art of Italian entertaining is really quite simple: Food + wine + espresso + great company and a whole lot of fun!
